The May 22nd Champagne Book Launch

RYBOVICH BOOK LAUNCH FOLLOW UP!

It was such a delight meeting all of you at
the Champagne Launch!

The book with its 1,000 photos has been tugging at my heartstrings for years, and I'm so happy to hear it's touching yours, too! The vintage boatyard photos bring back the world of my childhood, triggering rich memories with the smell of teak shavings and fresh varnish.  For those of you who haven’t yet had a chance to see the book firsthand, the old-timers' stories of working alongside my dad are priceless, so there are dozens of pages devoted to their first-hand recollections.  And an entire chapter shares “the Golden Age of Billfishing” with vintage tournament photos from 40s, 50s and 60s—a captivating world only a handful of Ol’ Salts still recall.  It’s sad to think this inspired world has come so close to fading entirely from view.

It was an extraordinary experience to share the Rybovich legacy with all of you at the event. In flipping through the pages of the boatyard in her heyday, a handful of Ol’ Salts and I shared misty eyes as we relived some of the happiest times of our lives.

Thank you all for sharing this journey with me.  Creating this 608 page tribute to my dad and his brothers has been an exhausting, exhilarating, and always soul-stirring experience!   i'm happy to say that the books are on schedule to be shipped mid-July.
