Hope you snagged this month’s Southern Boating featuring the RyboRendezvous at Ocean Reef!  With the oldest Rybo in existence on the cover (1949 Clari Jo, today Larry and Lynne Mullin’s breathtaking Legend) the “Retro Rybo” title hits all the right notes.

The weekend created such a sensation that we’re gearing up to do it again— RyboRendezvous #3 at Mystic Seaport.   Their first-ever display of vintage Rybovich will make a splash at their Antique & Classic Boat Rendezvous, July 22, 23, 24.

FRIDAY:  THE BOATS ARRIVE

If you have an eye for gleaming varnish, polished stainless and the classic lines of a glorious by-gone era, the Rybovich display at the Antique & Classic Boat Rendezvous is something you won’t want to miss!  Take a step back in time to enjoy the spectacular sight as over 50 antique, classic and vintage boats arrive in grand style along with the first-ever display of vintage Rybovich boats at Mystic Seaport. 

RYBOVICH WELCOMING PARTY   Join us for cocktails and camaraderie at our informal Rybo Clam Bake under the stars!  The party will start around 6 and will run thru the wee hours.  It’s the perfect opportunity to catch up with old friends & make new ones before the boat show begins. 

SATURDAY:    ANTIQUE & CLASSIC BOAT SHOW

Here’s an opportunity to get lost in vintage and classic wooden boats—Great Gatsby all the way!  The presentation of vintage Rybo’s will be world-class as Rybovich plays a prominent role in this year’s Antique and Classic Boat Rendezvous.  As this is a juried show, judging of some of the country’s most beautiful and authentically maintained wooden boats will be ongoing all day.  Along with an abundance of food and activities the entire family will enjoy, you’ll have a chance to appreciate a close-up view of the craftsmanship that went into each of my dad’s creations.  Each meticulously maintained classic Rybovich with her gleaming mahogany, teak decks and polished stainless steel will take you back in time to the world of Rybovich in her heyday. 

RYBOVICH BOOK PRESENTATION   A Rybovich presentation will be an exciting part of the event. With the book projected on a wide screen, I look forward to sharing the ‘behind the scenes’ story of each & every Rybo on display at the dock!  Later that evening join us at the "Rum-Runner Dinner Dance."  As rum-runners were a colorful part of the Rybovich history of the 1930s, we’ll dress in Roaring Twenties style!  All evening Rybovich owners & enthusiasts will gather together and we’ll raise a glass to celebrate the winners at the evening’s Awards Ceremony.

SUNDAY:    BOAT SHOW & PARADE

THE PARADE OF BOATS Expect to hear the throaty roar of exhaust pipes as the classic boats leave the harbor for their three-mile parade down the historic Mystic River.  While visitors line the shore to admire the breathtaking sight of a time gone by, each boat’s name will be announced as she passes through Mystic’s famous Bascule Bridge.  As we enjoy the weekend’s “grand finale” and look back at a Rybovich weekend to remember a helicopter will soar overhead to capture the Rybovich regatta—priceless footage to be showcased in the upcoming Rybovich documentary!
